I own a Portulacaria that has probably been touched by the entire population of Miami it seems most people see the shiny tiny leaves and think the tree is fake and they need to touch it to make sure it's real.

Lui, you read my mind. I think the original poster was simply asking for comments for appropriate behavior, and this was the first thing that came to my mind. Don't touch the trees. I don't feel this had to turn into another "bonsai as art thread." Geez.
