While I appreciate many aspects of Japenese culture and aesthetics, I also enjoy elements of many other cultures and their art forms.

Working with live plant material and that lives and grows is intriguing to me. The specimens that strongly evoke Japanese culture fascinate me, but I also enjoy native (to the US) species and the "international" look.

Most of all, I enjoy viewing bonsai and bonsai culture because I enjoy the trees.
