Oh yes I did have one thing. Admirable taper, by the way. that must take time! Critique from a beginner, probably to be thrown out the window: Although the trunk is slanting to the left, I still am seeing a "hole" at the base there, and want to see some roots, something subtle to balance the base without changing the emphasis of strong roots on the outside of the slant. Just what I would want to see, knowing that it's easier said than done.

Interesting question about male and female. It's been said that thicker trunks _represent_ masculinity, but who knows if men or women prefer one or the other. You might expect men to like using power tools more, so maybe you'd expect to see more dramatic jin and shari among men. Also I guess you could expect men to want the really big trees so they can show off how strong they are lugging the things about!

But seriously who knows about all that stuff, I don't believe in it anyways.
