OMC, thanks for asking. It is coming along nicely, although progress is a little slower than I'd hoped.

diamondlyme84 & dbz12fan, thanks for your interesting virtuals. Problem is though, this thread is 6 months old, I've already done most of the rough shaping already. Thanks anyway chaps.

Here is what I have done. I started out heading for Juliet's virtual as in post #7, but I was a bit heavy handed with bending the top, it broke clean off.

Then I had to decide whether to go for René's idea, or to grow the top on and try for Juliet's design after 2-3 years. René's idea won, but with a few changes of my own.

After the fiasco with breaking the top off, I was wary of bending the low right-most branch as I have shown in the virtual, post #3. I went for a more gradual bend, and kept fingers crossed for a new bud low on that branch. No luck yet on that.

This picture is from late April this year. It shows quite clearly where I had wired, and gives an indication of where I am heading for this tree.
