Hi Clay,
I appreciate very much your remarks.
First the pot, as I mentioned the pot is a training pot, it is very difficult, if at all, to find any bonsai pots in Israel.
Second the foliage, the foliage needs serious styling attention but as the tree is a nursery stock, bought at 5$, and had a major "operation", I would do the detailed training after the tree will be more vigor (I should take some "before" pictures).
Thirdly the nebari, the base of the trunk is covered with soil for the purpose of developing the rots.
This tree is not a contest tree it was presented as a tree in training, I thank you very much for your virtual, it helped a lot to clarify what bothered me in this tree, it is the angle of the trunk, I will try to bend it more, like your virtual.
BTW I am not familiar with the word "semlence" (English is not my first language).
Fred, I thank you for "leveling" me, I would love to see some of your trees, I do not see the problem for a man that had worked "35 years in Computer Systems development" to upload a picture…
