Thank you for your response. Let me clarify a little.
When I said I was "thinking about", I meant thingking about actually doing it, not thinking about asking. If you don't ask, the tree will die, and if the tree doesn't die, it will become beautiful, and you will have to live with knowing that you have taken something beautiful, and it was not yours to have.
I will try to get some pictures for you as well.
If the owner were to agree, would I want to feed it some organics, and keep up with it to try and nurse it back to health before collecting it? Or would it benifit more from an emergency transplant, perhaps into pure course sand, to let it recover?
