I've not noticed any rotting yet. So far so good I guess..
. The chamaecyparis is growing just fine on it's "mountain" so it must be feeling ok. It dries out real quick so adequate watering is vital. I've planted some moss on top to keep the soil from washing away and to keep it moist. This helps and looks cool too.. What design do you have in mind for your shohin ?
