Hi, I have two ficus benjamin, and I use to strip off the leaves on them, usually I do it on late sping of beginning of summer.

Till now the leaves grew again (fortunately), a little smaller than before and they grew in the same position than before, but some new leaves grew in other parts of the tree, in fact I use this techniques also with the purpose of new branch creation.

Usually it will take about one or two weeks to begin growing and they complete the grow in about one month or sometime more.

Sincerely I don't know on other species of Ficus (carica, retusa), but on benjamin I always succeed.

Let me know, Bye, Cremo.
