When it comes to pots I'm way down the list on experience. Most of mine are mica! But I think the basic type of pot is right...it's just too tall for the tree. I chopped the bottom off to get the idea. Also, when it is repotted I think it would look nicer a little above the edge of the pot, not leaning on it.
I like the tree. I think you got a good one.
