It is very difficult to find in Australia. I even find it hard to locate in Melbourne. You need to look around and find a shady wet damp place usually in laneways are a good start. Brisbane is a warm humid place I believe so maybe you need to wait until the wet season and see what happens.

The other technique which I have heard of but never tried is to collect and dry out the moss. Then crush it and sprinkle it on to a tray of potting mixing. Then spray some milk (yes milk!!!!) over the area. Do this a few times and keep the soil damp. This should produce moss, so I've heard.
