Yes, sorry but true, many bonsai will not survive long indoors. Even Junipers need cold to reset their clocks. They might live 1 or 2 years indoors and then go belly up. Pines need to be outdoors. Almost all deciduos trees need to lose their leaves and be stored in a cold place until spring.

However, search this web site for indoor trees and you will find a lot of information.

Chinese elms can be left out until they lose their leaves and then come indoors for an early start.
