I have but one desert rose, purchased about a year ago, from a nursery in central Texas. Several weeks after bringing it home, it bloomed like crazy. I counted 50 flowers on it. It seems to be in a constant cycle of bloom/no bloom/ bloom again. Not sure why but suspect it really likes the hot temps. I have learned that I can cut back too long branches and it will bud again at the cut end. When I repotted it, I even cut away some of the base with no problem. I will note that when I cut the base, there were other feeder roots still intact. Not really sure how often I water, maybe once or twice a week, and I keep it in full sun. I should also note that when I cut back the branches, I only cut two at a time, waiting til they budded before cutting more. Hope some of this helps. Larry
