sequoia
I have a 5 foot metasequoia that is waiting to be air layered later this spring.
It is difficult to get nebari on sequoia as they grow like telephone poles. To obtain the desirable base flare, you must not remove lower branches! Let everything low down grow as it wants until you obtain the trunk you are looking for.
They need sun, but not the heat of summer. Mid day and afternoon shade is best. And don't let the soil get bone dry - ever.
