Gotcha - the trunt does look very... unique. I didn't choose the tree myself, my fiancee did, I probably would have gotten a juniper, even though they do need to go outside. Lamps (as a poster suggested) would be a good idea. Walmart has a plant bulb reflector that looks pretty nice, I'm using a desk lamp w/ a 60 watt plant bulb positioned directly above the tree.
Its up to you though. Bonsai has to be what you want, as if you don't like it, you won't keep doing it.
