Where to buy unmolested trees?

I am looking to get an indoor tree. Maybe a ficus, maybe a chinese elm, not quite sure yet. But where can I get a tree that is not in a formal pot, with glued rocks and molested tot he degree where every tree has an S-Shaped trunk, or all bent like crazy? I just want a young tree, to put into a pot to grow and for me to train, not one that has been trained? I've gone to Lowe's looking for trees, no good. There's no home depot around my school but I plan to go to the one back home next week. Any other ideas like nurseries or stores online where I can order a young, unmolested, and somewhat cheap tree?
