Snail poo or worm casts?

Hello,

I have these funny mini walnut whip type swirls of soil on lots of my bonsai, I also have seen lots of snails about. A lot of my moss cover seems to be disappearing too...

Are these swirls snail poo?

Do snails eat moss?

Or is it nothing to do with the snails, and the swirls are just worm casts?

Regards, Chris.
