Two points: I am not sure that I would even consider grafting as an option on this tree, I think it is not going to be necessary. Point two; you could pull down a branch and make a semi-cascade if you want a tree that looks like some body pulled down a branch and made a semi-cascade out of the tree. Sometimes wanting it now can give you a future in a tree headed for the club auction or the ignore pile as the grower's skills and eye for art advance beyond a hasty decision. The fact remains that there is the potential for a really great bonsai if patience is exercised and pruning is done carefully. To settle for something less is almost a crime.
