Typically I water in the early morning. In summer I have to be sure they are watered by 11:00 or the maple leaves will get crispy fast (98-105). Sometimes certain trees need a second watering in the evening during summer. I add more organic material to my soil than some people to help the soil hold moisture. I have to be careful in cooler seasons to avoid over watering because of the organics.
