Isn't the subject of Oaks rather broad? Here in the Ozarks, our native Oaks are considered very poor subjects for Bonsai with very large leaves that don't reduce well and a strong aversion to having their roots tampered with. I wish it wasn't so; the ground here was covered with acotrns last Fall. In California, just about all the native Oaks are terrific for Bonsai.

May I ask what Oaks we're talking about?
