I guess I'll put my big foot in my mouth! Several years ago, I grew from seed several Wrightia religosa. As one of the seedlings grew more like a whip, I remembered I had an old piece of a Grape Vine. I decided to hollow out one side and under cut the narrow opening. I fitted the seedling whip into the hollowed out grape vine, and now two years later, I am enjoying my Shohin tree. Of course, it is not the usual way to go, but I like to do things that make this Bonsai hobby interesting!
