This tree is a European Ash. They are very common and grow very quickly.

They are not very good for bonsai because they have large leaves which never get very small. Secondly they tend to grow tall without growing very fat.

I've tried to make bonsai out of ash and never had success.

I think you can learn a lot by growing this tree further - but it will be difficult to make a good bonsai out of it.
