I agree with Joanie - cut it back.

I'd cut it back to within an inch or so of the roots and make a shohin of it. That tends to be my prevailing advice...for anything which is too leggy.

You could airlayer it I suppose - but I can never be bothered and it's a bit of a hassle. You may get away with rooting the cut-off top; I believe tridents root relatively easily.
