Hi,

I have a crape myrtle that is 2 years old. Last year I trimmed the roots and moved it into a bigger to get better girth on the trunk. Well this year I have already trimmed the roots and have moved it into a pond basket so it can continue to grow. My question is when should I try to wire it and when should I prune it. I have also successfully grown these seeds and have more on the way. I have literally 15 bonsai books and I am not really clear on when I should do these things. Some have suggested that early spring or late fall. I would like to get some clarity on these things since I am still a beginner. Any help would be appreciated.
