Hi TB,
Firstly thanks for advice, will try to achieve same. In respect of purchasing fuchsias with intention to bonsai:-
(a) Any small flowered cultivars with short distance between nodes.
(b) The encliandra type fuchsias are ideal, have very small flowers.
(c) To develop a trunk. If it's a hardy variety grow in the garden for a couple of years. If it's a non-hardy variety grow in garden in summer, remove in Autumn and place in a flower pot for winter, if possible keep at 45f/8c during winter in greenhouse, and return to garden when all risk of frost has gone following year.
