Does my crabapple have fireblight?

I am just a bit worried that my crab apple has fireblight after doing a web search. I have a problem with the lower left branch, it has died back. It did have leaves like the rest of the tree but they have shriveled up and turned brown. There was wire on this branch which I have now removed and I did scar the main part of the branch just next to the trunk but only about a quarter of the circumference. It has also recently been re potted, but I didn't think I disturbed the roots too much. I have read that if a branch had too many apples on it the previous year this can weaken that branch for years to come.

Can anyone give advice please? If it is firebight then I need to cut this branch off right? If it's not then it could recover?
