For example I have branches from field culture that are sparse with back buds. I have found that pulling the needle (2) bundle pulls the the new bud forming as well so I started stub cutting needles to save buds. Are you saying that eventually there are so many buds on a typical branch, you are not concerned when pulling needles about bud damage because of the quantity ? It seems to me if I pulled all the needles on a branch it would also remove all the potential new buds as well....no John?
