My experience with these things is that while they can grow tremendous suckers in the ground don't put trunk wood on or callus wortha darn.The resonse seems to be to grow around major wounds over an inch in diameter.Managing the deadwood and trunk rot is a big challenge.Retaining fine branching can be disappointing.Chose only the best trunks,bend suckers early for branches to look good,keep growing strongly,repotting aggressively and yearly is important.
