Blue Jacaranda and Red Sandalwood
A few years ago, I was tooling around the 'net, looking to expand my then-tiny bonsai collection.. I found a few sites/eBay sellers claiming that both Blue Jacaranda and Red Sandalwood made for good indoor specimens.
I've had a Sandalwood since that time (just coming up on four years, I believe it's six years old now) and had a Jacaranda that died just last fall (I'm pretty sure due to issues with the water the plant was getting, rather than the "indoor environment"). The Sandalwood has, in the last 2 weeks, dropped all of its branches, but seems to otherwise be doing well. This happened just after I repotted the plant, and I am of the belief that this is just a part of the plant's natural cycle. (I've seen similiar behaviour out of it before.) It has a slew of branch buds, and I'm eagerly awaiting their sprouting.
I'm finding very little information to either support or refute the claims that these are indoor bonsai.. I was wondering if anyone here had any experience/information regarding these two species, as I'm hoping that the Sandalwood isn't destined to die.
Any information would be wonderful.
Thanks.
