Fuku Bonsai
Dwarf Schefflera do extremly well as indoor bonsai because of their hardiness and tolerance of lack of light.
If you want to get really fancy, you can create a similar setup to Jerry Meislik to actually do successful with ficus or other tropicals as indoor bonsai (Jerry's site).
Bonsai are meant to be treated like actually trees and live outdoors to get full sunlight. You should leave tropicals outside unless it gets too cold, then you bring them in for the fall or winter. Indoor bonsai, unless treated with proper care and equipment, should only be temporary in my opinion. Luckily living in Florida, it stays rather warm so tropicals thrive without little to worry about.
