Hi Harry,
Maybe you could do a google images search for the following to see if they match your pest (All are common JBP pests):
Sawfly, Needle Miner, Bark beetle, shoot borer & mealy bugs.
JBP's are relatively pest free - the big killer is the pine nematode.
