It was winter, the trees were about 12-16 inches tall and they looked like mature trees.

I saw them in 1971 and was first time I'd seen bonsai trees. From the vantage point on the pole I got a bit of a shock because it felt like being back in Vietnam riding in a helicopter. It was a beautiful piece of landscaping.

Thank you both for your time. It seems the best way to get a definite answer is to try it.
