Conifers respond well to vaseline.I have seen huge wounds on Nick Lenz larches that were healed using vaseline.He usually tops a blob off with alum.foil.Be sure to put it on right away to keep wound slick and moist.Preparation-H for decidous.Yes it works but only the OINTMENT style.
