Pruning Trident Maple - Advice
The side branches on my Maple have become lanky through lack of maintenance and as a result the leaf growth is mainly at the ends. I would like to encourage more growth closer to the trunk. I plan to reduce the mass overall but may have missed my chance since the buds are starting to burst. I'm looking for recommendations as to the best time of the year to do this.
