Have you checked out other books by Peter Adams?
I have The Art of Flowering Bonsai by Adams. It has care info. for several different flowering species, but much of the book is spent on general bonsai creation.
I used to have one on deciduous trees by Adams that I liked.

Steve Pilacik's book on JBP is good. It's not a big book, but it has lots of info on developing JBP. It's about $15.
