I live in South LA also and I love to look at bald cypress. they have no basic form, every one has its own unique trait about it. I've been itchen to go down the bayou and see what I can find. Seeing these pictures just reminded me how buityfull it is to be out there amongst some of the giants that you see along the old bayous. There is an old dead swamp near here that I go to on an ATV. I found this one stump that I could stand inside of. It has been dead for about 80 years. Its walls are about 3 inches thick and solid like fresh wood. The whole trunk is about 5 feet wide.
