Yes, Super glue works! If it's good enough for Drs. its good enough for me.

I have used this several times before and have an Ebony branch recovering right now that I did the "Super glue" method on. It will looks very sloppy, but with the alternative of loosing that branch it works very well. After a growing season or 2 the branch will fuse together, the glue will fade away and look better.
