Jonathan, if I might make a suggestion, find a way to to set the tree against a plain, light-colored backgound. Take a look at pictures in the show-and-tell section of this forum to get the idea. The tree looks quite interesting, but needs more contrast with the background.

Incidentally, good job with the camera! I'm yet to get my first picture with my new digital sent off in an e-mail!
