Hi all,

I'm René Voortwist, age 37, married two kids. I live in Veghel the Netherlands. I do bonsai for almost two years now and are totaly hooked. It all started with a little oak seedling I found in the front garden. (maybe should have left it there.......) It's become so bad that it has totaly replaced my other big hobby : ham radio. I don't know how many plants I have in my backyards but there are too many. (or at least that's what my daughters keep telling me :->) Species include juniper, yew, hawthorn, chamacyparis, ceder, boxwood, and metasequioa. I think Bonsai is totaly fantastic. Two years ago I didn't know the difference between a pine and a spruce (have lived in the center of a big city until I was 21) and now I know at least three sorts of pines by their latin name... I'm suddenly noticing the season go by. (didn't care before two years execpt that it was cold in the winter.....) This forum is a great source of information and I try to visit it every day.
If someone would have told me two years ago that I would be sticking virtual branches on virtual trees on my computer I would have declared them insane. It's funny how a person can change...

regards, René
