All,
I have tried threading a small seeding onto a larger trunk Blk p. I found that the bark and surrounding tissue around the hole died and shrunk away even with a sealing applied.So by the time the seelding had swelled to the point of contactin the cambium layer there was nothing to graft onto but dead tissue. A difficult and very slow process.
Dont give up on standard grafting on black pine. It is easy and very good results occur in a year or so. \good luck
