No I do not sift my mix. The Richgrow is a good mix. When I am potting I remove any large bits but thats not often. With the added Zeolite I have found all my non natives and natives are very healthy.


In my early days of Bonsai I had a lot of poor result because of the advice given to me by the so called experts. At this point I decided to simplify my mix. A good quality potting mix and aquarium gravel.
When I started on natives I sourced a good native potting mix and also when zeolite became avalible I replaced the gravel with it.

I have used this format for 11 years on all my trees with great success.
