Rice Water

Rice "After you wash your rice, you can save the water and use it to water your plants."

I saw on facebook a group that had the Greenbook application. It's an application that suggests green ideas that has the potential to save the environment. One of the threads reads, if and when you wash your rice save the water you use to wash the rice and water your plants. can this be applied to bonsai as well? i do not want to risk the chance to poisoning the roots because i am not sure if it is safe. someone also said that the water you used to boil eggs will help as well because apparently it's very good for plants.
