Hi Chris,

Your plant looks like a boxwood and it also looks like there is gravel glued to the top of the soil. If so, that is probably the reason that the plant is dying. Root rot can develop very easily under the stones. If so, pull the rocks off, and then put the plant into a "hospital tent" otherwise known as a clear plastic bag. Seal the bag so that it doesn't sag down around the pot, and then put a couple slashes in it so that the humidity doesn't become overwhelming to the patient. Don't forget to check the soil every few days and also move the plant back out of the sun during the hottest part of the day because you don't want to cook it.

If this helps and you see good leaf growth beginning, then every other day add another slash to the bag and gradually ween your plant off the extra humidity. If you were to just remove the bag after it has gotten used to the extra humidity, the suddenly dry air would instantly dry your new leaves up.
