I wish I were him. There's no clubs here in Nebraska, closest one is like a 3 hour drive away.
I took the tree out yesterday for about an hour, it was a nice 46 with no wind. I inspected the leaves and *gasp* ... a couple of darker green spots showed up! Yay! No more of that pale green foliage hopefully. Also aired the garage again as it was colder inside than outside.
Couple of things though and I'm sure I'm worrying over nothing. How soft is the foliage supposed to really be? What about branches. Yes they bend, are flexible, but the foliage is a bit hard to the touch? Not crunchy, just hard. Also, at the very base of the branches there's some brown leaves with what looks like new growth which is still nice, green and softer. Also, I ran my hand softly over the foliage [might have done a bad bad thing?] and a couple of needles fell here and there. This was before I took it out.
However, it passed the scratch test. Houston, we've got green trunk! I just wanted to check it's overall apparent health.
