Wow all of this "turgor" and no conversations on philosophy or art? Wow.

Old Arkansas proverb: Tap water is not tap water is not tap water.

Meaning, if you are concerned about specific ions or combinations of ions or their concentrations, then get your water tested and adjust as required. If you are using a NaCl based (table salt to us Arkies) water softener, you better check your water a bunch unless you are raising salt cedar or some other highly salt tolerant species.

My tap water is different from my well water and they are both different than yours.

We use tap water, hundreds of thousands (millions?) of gallons over the years, and it has varied in quality over time. I would love to be providing the power, supplies and service contract to RO (reverse osmosis) or distill water to water my trees. I could make myself rich.

With many of the challenging remarks made in this thread, it is probably best to leave it alone. Pearl, I hope you do very well, I look forward to seeing your trees and having you show us how they progress over time.

John
