I wouldn't bother. I know walnut WOOD has a growth supressing something in it that helps keep competing plants from growing around the wanut (its one of the sawdusts you do NOT want to compost because of this) and I suspect its in the leaves and nuts as well. Besides, the stuff I've seen is pretty soft and would probably break down too fast to be useful.
