JADE - a strange occurrence for me!

Hi all forum members.
At the beginning of the growing season (March) I took apart a Jade that I have had for over ten years, and planted the trunks in different pots.

The other day, I noticed that what I believe are roots growing on the branches. I've never seen this before. I don't think they would be considered aerial roots or would they
