It would help to know what kind of tree you have and also a picture so we could give specific help.
Sound as though you may have it outdoors where the wind gets at it. And that is not bad as long as the winds aren't terribly high all the time. That would dry it even faster. Watering is the most important, as to when to water and not to overwater. Water only when the soil seems dry to the touch just under the surface. Again the specie of tree will determine how much it needs as well as the amount of light and wind.
