I'm sorry, I wasn't clear. You only have to mulch the rootzone...where the roots are. It's to keep the rootball from drying out or thawing prematurely and heaving in the late winter. By the way, those junipers are tough plants...you'll probably be fine if you make the move in the next few weeks, but sooner is better. Look forward to the pics.
