soil wetting agents
I've been advised to use a soil wetting agent (wettasoil, for those in australia) to ensue that the root ball doesn't dry out this summer. (this is not a water retaining agent) but I'm uncertain as to its effect on the root growth of my trees. the buld of my trees are in colanders so water penetration can be a problem. (I use a free draining mix.) But once it getts too dry, not something that happens often, but sometimes, it can be hard to rewet the root ball.
