Cascade's first wiring
I defoliated most of the tree leaving some leaves on the ends of each branch just to make sure there is good sap flowing and the tree is still making the most of the sunlight. Then I wired it. This is my first cascade. I have had the tree for about 6 months or so and wanted to let it get settled into its new home and thought this weekend would be an okay weekend to do it.
I am not sure of the age of the tree. I believe it is about 12 years old. That is what the guys at the nursery told me. The cascade is 20 inches long, the diameter of the canopy (before defoliation) is 14 inches, the height from the soil is 12 inches, and the trunk is about 2 inches wide.
Thoughts? Comments?
Thanks,
Jeff
